Welcome to my

Hobbit Hole!

Stories have always been part of my life.

Stories have been a part of my life ever since I scribbled my first one as a seven-year-old. I proudly gifted it to my aunt after church and watched her delight turn to horror. I’d written about a family of dogs    . . . that died.

Thankfully, my storytelling improved over the years. I began to see just how important stories are–how they’d shaped my life and taught me truths I needed to know. How they had the potential to change the world. And I knew I wanted to have a part in that change. I wanted to write stories of hope and magic in the ordinary, and I wanted to help other authors do the same.

But I bought into a lie.

I earned my BA in English and my graduate certificate in editing from UC Berkeley, excited to finally start helping authors. But I told myself that I didn’t have time.

After starting a job in financial aid at a local college (had to pay the bills somehow!), I thought I could work on launching my editing business in the evenings. But after work, I felt drained and exhausted.

A little over a year after I married my best friend, my son was born, and any thought of having extra time to pursue my dreams was gone. I prayed and cried over what I thought were crushed dreams. I was passionate about helping authors. Why couldn’t I find time to do what I loved?

Through the tears and prayers, God helped me realize that time would never magically appear. That it couldn’t be found. Instead, I had to use what time He’d given me and pursue the passion that He’d also given me.

With this realization and with my family’s support, I ignored the voice in my head that said I’d never make it and launched MG Literary Services—a place where I can cheer on other writers and help them unlock their story’s potential.

I am now a proofreader for Enclave Publishing–one of the leading Christian publishers of speculative fiction–I’ve completed several developmental edits for a Penguin Random House imprint, and I’ve had the huge pleasure of working with incredible aspiring and published authors to polish their manuscripts.

My passion to help authors develop strong stories has only grown, and I’d love to work with you where you’re at—whether that’s cheering you on to the magical words “The End” or working with you to polish your story.

I am also so thrilled to announce that I will be releasing a new cozy mystery series come fall of 2024! Book one of the Beatrice Ophelia mysteries focuses on a candlemaker who moves to Thisbe, Ohio (near Lake Erie) in an effort to bring her estranged family back together and stumbles upon a dead body in the process!

If you have any questions about my editing services or my upcoming cozy series, I’d absolutely love to connect with you on social media! I’m often posting book recommendations (I have a lot of favorite books) and fun writing-related reels and would love to laugh with you there!
